Project Pan #1

(The following is a re-post from my old blog, I've set it to the date it was written.)

Happy New Year! My ambition this year is to focus on using up my beauty products and not buying anything unnecessary. Thus, I decided to do a Project Use it Up/ Panning to set myself a goal of using up some of my make up and body care items. Some of these are things I don’t naturally gravitate to using, others are, or used to be staples. I am setting a 3 months time frame for this project.

For my base, I mix a bit of the Bourjois bronzing primer and EX1’s Invisiwear foundation, where the primer adds a bit of a deeper tone to the foundation as it is a bit too light for me. This combination is a new thing for me and I kind of love the satin-y finish it gives. Both the Maybelline and Rimmel concealer used to be my staple, but I’ve since used much better concealers and these got neglected for quite awhile. However, I think both are decent concealers and I should work on finishing them.

I top my base off with the Bourjois unifying powder, a good no-nonsense compact powder which I already use in my daily routine. The blusher I hope to hit pan on is Natural Collection’s Sugar Plum, a very mauve-plum matte blusher, perfect for this season. To be honest, I think these two are my most favourite products, even without this project I already use them consistently. Using up the powder wouldn’t be too difficult, but I’ve never hit pan on a blusher, so to include it in a project such as this one would be interesting!

There are two lipsticks I hope to work on : a very shimmery mauve Kiko lipstick and a cool nude lipstick by Essence. Both aren’t my favourite, with the Kiko being a bit too frosty for my liking and the Essence too cool for my skin tone, but still workable. For my daily lip balm needs, I have the Vaseline Rosy Lips, which is an okay lipbalm but I’ve had this for more than a year and there is still so much more. I really want to finish it up.

Two miscellaneous items and I seriously want to be done with both — Bio Oil, which does nothing at all for me but I intend to use as a body moisturizer and Superdrug’s foot cream which is a bit “meh” but I’ve had it since forever.

I hope this will progress nicely! I don’t know, see you in March and we’ll see how it went?

p/s: I really am not sure how to do this whole beauty/skincare blogging well, but one has got to start somewhere, no? Plus, WordPress dashboard is a pretty neat discovery, it’s kind cool!
